Innerducts Are Used for Protection

Filed under: Fiber Optic Cables — admin @ 4:46 pm

The material that houses cables is just as important as the cables are themselves.  The housing of cables is there so that nothing is able to harm or interfere with them.  The housings that are usually used to protect these cables are called innerducts.

Innerducts can come in a variety of colors but are known for being made in a bright orange shade.  The tube is typically light weight and flexible, aiding in the installation of them because they are installed in restrained areas.  Innerducts surround fiber optic cables, and sometimes other types of cables or wiring, that are being run underground.

Mechanical Transfer Pull-off

MTP, Mechanical Transfer Pull-off, is technology within fiber optic networks.  This technology holds a large number of fibers, up to 72.  MTP cassettes have a port in the back that holds a coupler that is used to connect to of an MTP cable.  The connector that is used contains 12 fibers.

After the cable is plugged in it will light up different connections, up to 12 of them.  The patch cables will then need to be plugged in.

Mechanical Transfer Pull-off technology is predicted to ultimately substitute the measures that are used for fiber optics as of now.

Firewire Cables

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 4:38 pm

Firewire cables are designed to connect firewire peripherals, external devices that are used to increase the potential of the communication system, to firewire enabled computers.  When the connection is made by the firewire, between the two mechanisms it makes it easier for information to be shared and enables the data to be accessed at a faster pace.

Firewire cables are similar to USB cables.  These cables transfer data at a very fast pace, are easy to use, and have plug-and-play capabilities.  Firewire cables transfer their data amid digital devices and are used often in audio and video equipment.

Cable Protection

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 3:26 pm

Regardless of the type of cable that is used for any sort of electronic or technological device that you or your company may have, there needs to be some sort of protection used to shelter the cable or hose.  Depending on where your cables or hoses are located will constitute what type of protection that you should use.

For those cables that are located somewhere where they can be easily stepped on, such as high traffic pedestrian areas, there are lighter applications such as the Rubber Duct protector.  For cables that are located in places that can be trampled by vehicles and heavier things there are more durable solutions, such as the GuardDog series of protective casings.

Monitor Cables

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 3:06 pm

The cables that are used with your home or work computers are extremely important in how the device runs as well as in how your network responds.  Monitor cables, VCA and SVGA, can help to expand your array of configuration potentials by enlarging the expanse amid your computer and monitor.

Both of these types of monitor cables can aid in your computers performance, but the SVGA cables specifically is able to offer a step up in terms of signal strength.  The cables have a coax shielding that helps to ensure that the signal strength is at a high degree and that it can operate over extensive distances.

RapidRun

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 3:17 pm

RapidRun is an interconnect system that is used for PC/Video, Multimedia, and Digital A/V solutions.  It is the only interconnect system that evolves with the A/V equipment.  The versatility that RapidRun offers can be linked to its runner.  The runner is a core cable that is able to connect with wall plates or break-away pigtails.  With this system you are able to choose whatever it is you need to create a maximum of eight various configurations.

The runners that are available can be used for commercial or residential wiring.  The system does not come with bulky connectors, but with a VCA cable that can be pilled through a ¾-inch conduit with a 90-degree sweep.

Chameleon

Filed under: Fiber Optic Technology — admin @ 4:00 pm

To meet the need for a new solution for fiber optic networks LightWave manufacturing has recently introduced the Chameleon Fiber Optic Solution.  The Chameleon is a complete fiber optic system that introduces a chassis design that is able to provide housing for multiple cassettes and adapter panels.

The Chameleon has a 144-fiber MTP cassette and will eventually have a 72-fiber MTP cassette.  Both are developed exclusively for the fiber/copper patching system.  To operate the 144-fiber MTP cassette two 72-fiber MTP connectors are plugged into the rear of the cassette and to operate the 72-fiber MTP cassette one 72-fiber MTP connector is plugged into the rear of the cassette.  The front of the cassette is comprised of 12-fiber feed-through MTP couplers used for patching (twelve for the 144-fiber cassette and six for the 72-fiber cassette).  Contained within the cassette are either two distinctive 72-fiber harnesses with two 72-fiber MTP connectors in the back, breaking out to twelve 12-fiber MTP connectors in the front for the 144-fiber cassette, or one distinctive 72-fiber harness with one 72-fiber MTP connector in the back breaking out to six 12-fiber MTP connectors in the front for the 72-fiber cassette.
