MTP

Filed under: Mechanical Transfer Pull-off Solutions — admin @ 2:32 pm

MTP (Mechanical Transfer Pull-Off) cassettes are one of the most recent technological advances in the field of fiber optics.  The cassette consists of LC or SC couplers in the front, an MTP coupler in the back, and MTP to LC/SC fan out assembly inside of the cassette.

Cables Plus USA predicts that MTP technology will eventually replace the standards for fiber optics as we know it.  People are now tearing out their existing infrastructure and placing MTP cassettes in their patch panels to route data for thousands of network electronics.

RGB

Filed under: Component Cables — admin @ 2:29 pm

Component cables are cables that are split into two or more components.  In the case of the RGB Component Cable, it is split into 5 smaller cables or conductors.

The cable has 25 AWG cores with FPE insulation.  The component also includes a tinned copper braiding shield.  These features allocate a nominal amount of EM interference and cross-talk.

The cores of the component cable are each a different color; red, green, blue (hence the name RGB), yellow and white

This all-encompassed component cable is best for using with new construction or in cases of pulling conduit through at the end.

Monitor Cables

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 2:28 pm

Some of the smaller parts that may not be considered when thinking about the operations of a device but do have a great effect of how the mechanism runs and operates are the cables.

There are cables that run from mechanism to mechanism that make up the entire design of a computer. One of the most important cables is the monitor cable. The monitor cable connects the actual computer to the monitor.

Depending on the design of your monitor cable you can expand your range of configuration possibilities by extending the expanse between your computer and your monitor.

Customization

Filed under: Cables, Customization — admin @ 4:26 pm

Customization is a great thing to have with anything.  Having something that is made just for you or your business can be a profitable characteristic.  Customization can sometimes be the key to finding something that works for you.

Cables Plus USA offers its customers a custom security network.  To be able to create this security network customers can visit their website and click under custom security.  When creating this custom security the client will need to choose camera specifications.  Users will be able to choose exactly what they are looking for, therefore making the security a custom fit.  The customer will say how many cameras they need, where the cameras will be located (indoors or outdoors), the type of lens, the type of camera, the camera position, the housing type, how many monitors they will need, the type of display they want and all of the other equipment that they may need.

Copper Cables are also something that can be custom made.  To order custom copper cables a user just has to log-on to the Cables Plus website and click on custom copper cables.  Once on this page the potential customer will have to make connector specifications.  They can make the specifications for connector A and connector B.  Some of the information that will need to be given is the pair count, the gender, the hood-style, and the retention.  The cable specification will also need to be given.  Some of the information that will need to be given is the cable type, the application, the reel, the length, the quantity and the color.

Cables Plus has a custom fiber cable configurator that can determine what type of fiber cables someone may need.  This configurator gives customers the choice for non-terminated bulk fiber as well.  To configure a cable the customer can log on to the website and go under custom fiber cable and enter their cable specifications.  The page asks for information such as polarity, strand count, overall length, glass type, and much more.

All About Cage Nuts

Filed under: Cage Nuts — admin @ 4:23 pm

A cage nut is a square shaped nut in a spring cage that is wrapped around the actual nut.  The cage that wraps around the nut is made of steel.  Cage nuts are used for the mounting of equipment.  These nuts come in a variety of different sizes from 10/32 to 12/24, which can be fitted to many standard sized racks.

The way that a cage nut operates is that it has two sides that when squeezed will permit the forged steel cage to be placed into a square hole in an equipment rack.  Once the cage nut its cage have been let loose the cage nut will be able to hold the rack.

Like we have discussed before, a cage nut is a square shaped nut in a spring cage that is wrapped around the actual nut.  These nuts are used for the mounting of equipment.  A cage nut can be installed by using a flathead screwdriver, which can often be a hassle.  A cage nut can also be installed by using a more convenient tool known as a cage nut tool (easy enough).

A cage nut tool is a tool that almost resembles a pair of nail or toenail clippers.  This insertion tool, which is used for 10mm cage nut bodies, is a time saving mechanism in itself.  The tool can help to install cage nuts into cabinets of racks.  The tool features a rubber grip on its top so that it won’t slip out of the hand
