Ground Loop Isolator

Filed under: Audio/Video Devices, Home Networking — admin @ 10:27 am

The feedback, often times referred to as a buzzing sound, that is sometimes received from an audio or video device is called a ground loop.  To solve this noise issue that can occur within the compartments of an audio or video mechanism it is best to use a ground loop isolator.

The isolation transformer can be connected to the system experiencing the ground loop.  Once the isolator is connected it will work to break the ground path through cables that run between elements of the piece of equipment.  The elimination of this noise matter can be extremely difficult to do away with so it may take a great deal of time and patience.

Custom Security

Filed under: Audio/Video Devices, Network Security, Security Products — admin @ 12:48 pm

Customization can sometimes be the key to finding something that works for you.  This concept is no different when it comes to security networks.  Cables Plus USA offers its customers a custom security network.  To be able to create this security network customers can visit their website and click under custom security.

When creating this custom security the client will need to choose camera specifications.  Users will be able to choose exactly what they are looking for, therefore making the security a custom fit.  The customer will say how many cameras they need, where the cameras will be located (indoors or outdoors), the type of lens, the type of camera, the camera position, the housing type, how many monitors they will need, the type of display they want and all of the other equipment that they may need.

Video Baluns

A video balun is an impedance transformer that allocates the transmitting of signals that have need for a definite impedance value above a cable that has distinctive impedance.  These video baluns are the strategic factors that permit users to broadcast RGB, S-Video, VGA, YCbCr, composite audio, YPbPr, or composite video over Cat5.

Video baluns are best used when video is sent using Cat5.  These baluns are also useful in video installations.

They provide the essential 75Ohm impedance to the video devices while providing 100Ohm impedance to the cabling infrastructure.

Ground Looping

When an audio device receives a buzzing feedback it is often referred to as a ground loop.  The humming noise that sometimes comes from speakers is a form of ground loop.  This buzzing noise is caused by voltage prospective differences that are found at the ground point of the mechanism, i.e. a speaker or headphones.

A ground loop may transpire when more that one audio element is powered from different power outlets.  When this takes places the hum or the buzz is what results and is heard through the audio device.  When this takes place a ground loop isolator may be needed to repair the issue.
