Network Interface Card

Filed under: Cables, Network Cables — admin @ 12:57 pm

A network interface card is considered to be a part of computer hardware that allows a computer to communicate across the devices network. This card allows the computer to provide access to the user to a networking system, as well as an addressing system.

Users of this network card can connect to each other by using cables, such as Ethernet cables, or they can do it through a wireless connection.

The interface part of this card is able to control a network proficient mechanism to access networks, such as the Internet.

USB Secure Devices

Filed under: Cables, Connectors, Network Electronics, USB Cables & Hubs — admin @ 1:30 pm

A USB, Universal Serial Bus, is a mechanism that allows other devices to be connected with a solitary uniform interface socket.  USB devices are able to connected and disconnected from the computer without having to shut it down

Some types of USB devices include flash drives, digital cameras, speakers, microphones, sound cards, Ethernet adapters, modems, keyboards, laser printers, and much more.

The signaling for this device can be at full, low, high and super speeds.

These USB connectors are able to be plugged in to the peripheral devices but they must be plugged in correctly, being that the USB port only accepts a USP cable that is shaped in a different way.

What is a Serial Cable?

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 12:37 pm

Serial cables are those that connect serial devices to serial communication ports.  These cables can be made using D-submarine connectors depending on what is will be used for.  Also, the number of wires that are housed within the cable will vary depending on the circuits that are required. The length that the actual serial cable will end up being will depend on the individuality of the serial port receivers and transmitters.

These cables are able to transmit data using actual serial communication.  In most cases a serial cable will use an RS-232 Standard which is for serial binary data signals that are used when linking Data Circuit-terminating Equipment and Data Terminal Equipment.

Firewire Cables

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 12:05 pm

Firewire cables are designed to connect Firewire peripherals, external devices that are used to increase the potential of the communication system, to Firewire enabled computers.  When the connection is made by the firewire, between the two mechanisms it makes it easier for information to be shared and enables the data to be accessed at a faster pace.

Firewire cables are similar to USB cables.  These cables transfer data at a very fast pace, are easy to use, and have plug-and-play capabilities.  Firewire cables transfer their data amid digital devices and are used often in audio and video equipment.

Monitor Cables and Configuration

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 5:31 pm

When using a computer most people just think about what the computer itself and the monitor are doing not about the smaller components.  Some of the smaller components that may not be considered but do have a great effect of how the device runs are the cables.

There are cables that run from mechanism to mechanism that make up the entire design of a computer.  One of the most important cables is the monitor cable.  The monitor cable connects the actual computer to the monitor.  Depending on the design of your monitor cable you can expand your range of configuration possibilities by extending the expanse between your computer and your monitor.

RGB Component Cable

Filed under: Cables, Fiber Optic Technology — admin @ 4:11 pm

Component cables are cables that are split into two or more components.  In the case of the RGB Component Cable, it is split into 5 smaller cables or conductors.

This all-encompassed component cable is best for using with new construction or in cases of pulling conduit through at the end.

The cable has 25 AWG cores with FPE insulation.  The component also includes a tinned copper braiding shield.  These features allocate a nominal amount of EM interference and cross-talk.

The cores of the component cable are each a different color; red, green, blue (hence the name RGB), yellow and white.

CAT6 Cables

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 2:54 pm

Cables are a vital part of what makes technology run.  CAT6 Cables are a reliable brand of cables that come in a variety of options to meet an assortment of needs.  Some of the kinds of cables that CAT6 produces are network cables and patch cables.

CAT6 is an acronym for Category 6, an industry standard for Gigabit Ethernet.  The Category 6 cables require special plugs for their use because of the increase in wire diameter.

Many of the cables come in different lengths and colors, making them customizable to your data network.  The cables can range from very small lengths up to 100 feet, which should suit even the most demanding space criteria

Mechanical Transfer Pull-off

MTP, Mechanical Transfer Pull-off, is technology within fiber optic networks.  This technology holds a large number of fibers, up to 72.  MTP cassettes have a port in the back that holds a coupler that is used to connect to of an MTP cable.  The connector that is used contains 12 fibers.

After the cable is plugged in it will light up different connections, up to 12 of them.  The patch cables will then need to be plugged in.

Mechanical Transfer Pull-off technology is predicted to ultimately substitute the measures that are used for fiber optics as of now.
