Wonky Screen Resolution? Check Your Cables

Filed under: Component Cables — admin @ 5:22 pm

Got a bad resolution when playing your PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii? If your greens, blues, and reds tend to be too dark you likely haven’t switched your AV to RGB. AV meaning composite and RGB meaning component.

Because component video connectors are used for several different video connection transfers, often the signal being transferred doesn’t relay the best resolution or speed. Televisions, DVD players, and gaming systems can be adjusted for the type of input/output connection ence, making a component video connection often does not lead to a satisfactory video signal being transferred. The settings on many DVD players and TVs may need to be set to indicate the type of input/output being used, so double check your settings first when diagnosing any resolutions that seem “off”.

Analog cables may be phasing out due to digital video and HDMI, but CablesPlus still stocks a variety of component cables, and RGA component cables to suit your individual needs. From 1.5ft to 100ft long, our cables make sure you have the right amount for whatever your job. We also fill custom orders, so if you’ve got a unique issue on your hands, let us know and we’ll roll out custom cable solutions to fit your needs.

RGB

Filed under: Component Cables — admin @ 2:29 pm

Component cables are cables that are split into two or more components.  In the case of the RGB Component Cable, it is split into 5 smaller cables or conductors.

The cable has 25 AWG cores with FPE insulation.  The component also includes a tinned copper braiding shield.  These features allocate a nominal amount of EM interference and cross-talk.

The cores of the component cable are each a different color; red, green, blue (hence the name RGB), yellow and white

This all-encompassed component cable is best for using with new construction or in cases of pulling conduit through at the end.
