Monitor Cables and Configuration

Filed under: Cables — admin @ 5:31 pm

When using a computer most people just think about what the computer itself and the monitor are doing not about the smaller components.  Some of the smaller components that may not be considered but do have a great effect of how the device runs are the cables.

There are cables that run from mechanism to mechanism that make up the entire design of a computer.  One of the most important cables is the monitor cable.  The monitor cable connects the actual computer to the monitor.  Depending on the design of your monitor cable you can expand your range of configuration possibilities by extending the expanse between your computer and your monitor.

It seems as if all of our current technology is coming out in a digital form, making our lives that much more convenient. Remember the days of have to put a tape into the VCR and pressing record right when a program you wanted to tape came on? Well thank goodness those days are behind us.

Today, many people have something that is called a DVR, digital video recorder. This is a device that allows users to record video (television shows, movies, etc) in a digital configuration to some sort of recall vehicle within the DVR.

A DVR can come in the form of software for your computer, DVR software built in to a television, stand-alone DVR boxes, and portable media players.

Surge Protectors: What to Look For When Purchasing One

Filed under: Surge Protectors — admin @ 3:07 pm

When your computer and other forms of electrical equipment are important to how you run your day to day office or home business you want to make sure that they are protected. Surge protectors are devices that can be used with your essential electrical equipment to make sure that it is guarded against power surges and other fluctuations that can cause devastation.

When purchasing a surge protector there are a few things that buyers should keep in mind. First you should make sure that the surge protector that you are thinking of purchasing is actually a surge protector. Surge protectors are similar in appearance to power strips so you should make sure that you did not pick up a power strip. You should also evade trying to buy a cheaper surge protector and just stick with the one that is going to get the job done and protect your computer from power surges. Also, remember to make sure that your surge protector offers insurance because if it does not protect your computer and ends up ruining your equipment you want to make sure that it is protected by means of insurance.
