Secure Hard Drives and Flash Drives

Filed under: Data Security, Network Security, Security Products — admin @ 4:23 pm

One of the most important things to have when working with computers or any type of technology is a place to store your data that is safe from trespassers.  There are certain devices that can be used to store your important and private data at high capacities.

Devices such as the Stealth MXP, the Outbacker MXP, the ClipDrive Secure, the ClipDrive Bio and other flash memory solutions are the best way to ensure that your important data is protected.

If your line of work requires that you keep information highly classified, the previously mentioned devices are your best option for safe keeping.

Fiber Optic Cables

Filed under: Fiber Optic Cables — admin @ 12:32 pm

Fiber optic cables are network cables that are made out of a bundle of thin strands of glass.  This technology uses the glass fibers to transmit digital data.  The messages and data that are transmitted through these cables merge into a carrier signal and are adjusted to light waves.  The digital information that is carried through these lines is sent over long distances.

Each optical fiber that is within a fiber optic cable is made up of the core, the cladding, and the buffer coating.  In one cable there is usually hundreds of thin fibers that are all bundled under a covering.

DVRs

Filed under: Audio/Video Devices, Network Electronics — admin @ 5:13 pm

It seems as if all of our current technology is coming out in a digital form, making our lives that much more convenient. Remember the days of have to put a tape into the VCR and pressing record right when a program you wanted to tape came on? Well thank goodness those days are behind us.

Today, many people have something that is called a DVR, digital video recorder. This is a device that allows users to record video (television shows, movies, etc) in a digital configuration to some sort of recall vehicle within the DVR.

A DVR can come in the form of software for your computer, DVR software built in to a television, stand-alone DVR boxes, and portable media players.

Mechanical Transfer Pull-off

MTP, Mechanical Transfer Pull-off, is technology within fiber optic networks.  This technology holds a large number of fibers, up to 72.  MTP cassettes have a port in the back that holds a coupler that is used to connect to of an MTP cable.  The connector that is used contains 12 fibers.

After the cable is plugged in it will light up different connections, up to 12 of them.  The patch cables will then need to be plugged in.

Mechanical Transfer Pull-off technology is predicted to ultimately substitute the measures that are used for fiber optics as of now.
